Dog-friendly camping in the New Forest

Dogs are welcome at Teddy’s Farm, and they stay free. Our campsite is on a working family sheep farm near Lymington, with plenty of space in two open fields and the New Forest a ten-minute walk from the farm entrance, so it makes a good base for a holiday with your dog.

Can you bring a dog camping at Teddy’s Farm?

Yes. Dogs stay free when you camp with us. The campsite is family and dog friendly, and because there are no fixed pitches you can choose a spot with plenty of room for everyone, people and dogs alike.

If you’d rather not bring a tent, have a look at our pre-pitched bell tents, and get in touch to check before you book with a dog.

What are the rules for dogs on the campsite?

Teddy’s Farm is a working sheep farm, so we ask two simple things of every dog owner:

  • Keep your dog on a lead at all times, including in the camping fields.
  • Clean up after your dog.

The sheep graze in the fields around the campsite, and a dog on a lead keeps them calm and keeps your dog safe.

Where can you walk your dog near the campsite?

The open forest is a ten-minute walk from the farm entrance, with miles of tracks across heathland and through woodland. Setley Pond is close by for a shorter walk, and the coast at Lymington is a five-minute drive away.

What should dog owners know about the New Forest?

The New Forest is home to free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys, and to ground-nesting birds. The New Forest Code asks dog owners to keep their dogs under control, and never to let them chase or approach the animals. In spring and early summer, keeping to the main tracks helps protect the birds while they nest.
